Why this site exists

Most stitch tutorials online are attached to a blog post — which is great for storytelling, but slow when you just need the steps. Stitch n Pattern strips that away. Every stitch, guide, and glossary entry follows the same plain format: what it's called, how hard it is, exactly how to work it, and what to try next. No preamble, no ads wedged between instructions.

How entries are written

Each entry is written and checked by hand against standard, widely used technique references, then fitted into the site's consistent template so every page reads the same way regardless of craft or difficulty. Photos throughout the site are real worked swatches, not stock diagrams. Mistakes happen — if you spot one, the contact page is the fastest way to get it fixed.

Who's behind it

Stitch n Pattern is independently written and maintained, not produced by a large editorial team. It's a growing project — new stitches, guides, and tools are added over time — and it stays useful because people who spot a gap or an error say something.
